Talk Bees with the Bee Girl

Join Sarah Red-Laird, the Bee Girl, on Friday, August 11 at 11 am at Nash’s Farm Store, 4681 Sequim-Dungeness Way in Dungeness as she returns for another great talk on the wondrous world of bees and honey. Did you know that honey can provoke as many flavors and images as complex wines? Did you also know that one bee will only produce 1/12 of a teaspoon of honey in her lifetime? Learn more about honey bees, the current programs and research of the Bee Girl Organization, and our collaborative work for farmers, bees, and beekeepers with Washington State University. Sarah Red-Laird is founder and Executive Director of the Bee Girl Organization, a nonprofit with a mission to educate and inspire communities to conserve bees, their flowers, and our food system. She is a graduate of the University of Montana's College of Forestry and Conservation with a degree in Resource Conservation, focused on community collaboration and environmental policy. Aside from running the Bee Girl organization’s programs, Sarah is the Kids and Bees Director for the American Beekeeping Federation, is an active member of the Northwest Farmers Union, the Western Apicultural Society’s Oregon Director, the Regional Representative for the Southern Oregon Beekeepers Association, and a brand “ambeesador” for Mountainsmith. When she is not tirelessly working with bees, beekeepers, kids, farmers, land managers, and policy makers, Sarah heads for the hills with a camera, backpack, and her best friend Sophie, the yellow lab.
