SUMMARY:General Auditions 2017-2018 Live Theatre Season
DESCRIPTION:Olympic Theatre Arts\, Sequim\, has announced its upcoming 2017 2018 season of live theatre and is now inviting all interested actors to participate in general auditions on Saturday\, June 17 at 3:00 p.m. "We have learned that it is important to give our community of actors as much notice as possible about the upcoming season so that they are able to identify plays of interest and plan their year accordingly\," stated Carol Willis\, OTA executive director. "This does not take the place of the regular auditions that will be held for each show a few months before performance dates. It just gives our directors a look at some actors that they may not know and the actors some information about each of the plays." Actors will select a monologue to read from those prepared by the directors and may present a song of choice if interested in musical parts. OTA will provide an accompanist to play sheet music for musical audition candidates\, and a CD player will be available to play instrumentals for songs. The directors may also ask candidates to read scene parts with other actors during the auditions. Candidates may arrive anytime between 2:30 and 4:30 p.m. to sign in and audition. Directors will begin at 3 p.m. with short self-introductions and casting visions. Audition candidates will then perform in order of sign-up.
