SUMMARY:OPHCC Coalition with Inspector Josh Ley
DESCRIPTION:Our upcoming Olympic Peninsula Healthy Community Coalition meeting is NEXT week: We recognize and respect that most of us are feeling "Zoom Fatigue". We have shortened our meeting to 1 hour until we are able to meet in person again.\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nWednesday\, July 21st \n\n1:00 to 2:00 PM\n\n\n\nZOOM Invite Included\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\nOur Partner Spotlight this month is Inspector Josh Ley\, (Clallam County Sheriff's Office Internal Affairs). Josh will be sharing about Washington's Target Zero plan to eliminate fatal collisions by the year 2030\, a lofty goal in Region 1 because we've averaged 11 deaths annually over the last five years (with impairment and distraction as common factors). Since driving culture is shaped by engineering\, enforcement and education\, there is an increasing reliance on education to curb risk behaviors that affect the driving culture. Collaboration between public health and safety coalitions can create force multipliers for broadening outreach and achieving the interrelated goals of increasing community wellbeing. \n\nWishing we could meet in person\, but looking forward to seeing some familiar faces on Zoom!!
