SUMMARY:Sequim Branch Library - After Hours Art Reception
DESCRIPTION:Art in the Library\n\nThe new Art in th e Library exhibit features the photography and paintings of Jim Gift\, and will be on display from June 2 through October 2 at the Sequim Branch Library.  Gift\, a Sequim-based artist\, is an award winning nature photographer specializing in wildlife and landscape photography.  He has won numerous awards for his photography including eight best of show ribbons.  His landscapes reflect his special love of the wilderness. Gift is a lifelong birder and has completed his largest body of work on diverse bird species.\n\n \n\nOver the last eight years\, Gift has studied watercolor painting and has focused his time in developing his skills using this medium.  He paints largely from his photographs of birds and of local mountains and waterways.\n\n\n\nSwinging Dean Show\n\nDean Ratzman will play his Swingin' with Dean Show at 6:30pm on Friday\, June 2\, during the First Friday Art Walk at the Sequim Branch of the North Olympic Library System (NOLS).  An artist reception will take place at 6pm\, immediately preceding the live tunes\, for the new Art in the Library exhibit featuring Jim Gift.\n\n \n\nAbout Dean Ratzman\n\nAt 6:30pm\, Dean Ratzman will offer his Swingin' with Dean Show\, featuring hits of great American artists from the 1940's to the 1970's.  Ratman's solo show includes piano\, trombone\, trumpet and singing.   Treat yourself to an evening of swing\, jazz\, blues\, rock and pop.\n\n\n\nMore information\n\nLimited library services will be available during this special after-hours reception. The Art in the Library program is made free to the public with generous support from the Friends of Sequim Library.
