SUMMARY:WOW Forum\, "Getting Your Time's Worth"
DESCRIPTION:Bertha D. Cooper will present a free WOW! Working on Wellness Radio Forum on Wednesday May 13th\, at 2:00-3:00 pm\, on KSQM FM Radio\, at 91.5 on the radio dial. Bertha was born and raised in Seattle WA\, long before Microsoft and Amazon. She earned a BSN degree in nursing and entered the profession the same year as Medicare\, a coincidence destined to define her career in non-traditional ways. She moved into administrative management amidst an expanding array of health care delivery innovations. She has served in public health\, home health\, long-term care\, hospice and acute care\; and in each of those roles she has attended to the quality\, safety\, and efficacy of health care for the elderly. Writing was also always part of Bertha's professional roles -- writing to inform\, educate\, and persuade. She has been a featured columnist for The Sequim Gazette\, a local weekly newspaper\, for over seven years\; and she combined her curiosity about aging and passion for writing in the book "Women\, We're Only Old Once"\, published in October 2020 by MSI Press. In this forum Bertha will share with us ideas from her book's subtitle: how to "Keep What You Can\, Let Go of What You Can't\, Enjoy What You Have!" WOW!\, Working on Wellness\, is a health education program of Dungeness Valley Health & Wellness Clinic Sequim's free clinic. The Clinic provides basic urgent care and chronic health care services to uninsured community members. Our work is supported by more than seventy volunteers\, including physicians\, other professional health care providers and laypersons\, as well as private and public donations from the Sequim community and beyond. We would like to thank our 2026 Proud Supporters: Jamestown Family Health Clinic\, KSQM FM Radio Station\, Olympic Medical Center\, and Acrisure Insurance. The Basic Urgent Care Clinic is open to patients on Monday and Thursday evenings beginning at 5:00 pm. Individuals interested in supporting the Clinic may call 360.582.0218.
