Description
Drop that hose and put an end to hand watering your garden. Join local gardener Tom Riette for the Green Thumb Education Series presentation “A Master Laborer’s Guide to Automated Drip Irrigation” and learn how to water your garden the easy way at the push of a button. An automated irrigation system can save you time, effort and valuable resources and can keep plants healthier because it gets the water to where it is needed most. Tom will share his knowledge and experience by providing participants with a basic knowledge of different watering systems and how to program them to make watering almost fully automatic. “Automated irrigation will free up quite a bit of your time once it is properly designed and installed,” he said. Tom is a retired telecommunication engineer and local gardener who has lived in California, Arizona and Alaska and for the past 9 years has lived in Carlsborg, Washington. He started using drip irrigation in 1979 in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountains in Central California and continues to sing its praises today. The Green Thumb Education Series presentation “A Master Laborer’s Guide to Automated Drip Irrigation” will be held in person on Thursday, March 28th from noon – 1:00 p.m. at St. Andrews Episcopal Church, 510 E. Park Avenue in Port Angeles.
