Description
For most artists, the art they create is an expression of an emotion or a feeling they are experiencing. That is certainly the case for Mary Franchini and Jennifer Rose, featured artists for February at Blue Whole Gallery. They named their show “Art from the Heart.” Mary and Jennifer share a passion for their art, and they both LOVE the creative process. Jennifer, a master bead artist, explains how beading puts her in her “happy place,” where she is grounded and at peace with the world. “After a busy day at work or when life moves in turbulent ways, I sit down with my tiny little beads and before long all of that is gone,” states Rose. “I love beading, and all of that love goes into every piece I create. A part of me is in each of my pieces.” Mary, who works in acrylics, believes that “all art comes from our hearts.” She states, “When I am in the studio working, I’m happy and I feel complete. I love working with acrylics. They dry fast and I can make changes easily.” Lately Mary has begun working with oil pastels, a new challenge for this gallery member of 24 plus years. And longevity is a big part of Mary’s life. This month on February 13, she and her husband, George, will celebrate their 55th anniversary. “I love February!” states Franchini. Easy to see why!
Both artists invite the public to view their work, presented in the gallery windows in February. Their hope is that the viewer will enjoy what they see and take away some of the heartfelt joy both artists have created in their work. They will both be present at the February 6th Art Walk from 5 to 8pm.
