Civic Minds + Creative Hearts: Local Water Systems
In honor of our current exhibit Science Stories bringing together artists and environmental researchers from around the region we invite you to a special interactive evening in partnership with the Feiro Marine Life Center to look at the fascinating research happening in our own backyard.
Join us as we take a tumble through our local watershed to learn about the factors impacting the ecological vitality of our waterways. From the highest peaks down to the coastal floor local researchers are on the move tracking the long-term health of our glaciers, mountain lakes, tributaries and intertidal zones. Coastal Ecologist with Olympic National Park Dr. Steve Fradkin will provide an overview of the various watershed monitoring projects happening from top to bottom and will share his unique perspective on what the data tells us about our shifting ecosystem.
Staff from the Marine Life Center and PAFAC will host interactive pop-up art and science stations. Don’t miss this creative journey through nature where you can learn about the actions you can take to support our watershed. Food and drinks will be available for purchase.
