Tickets are $20 at the door, $15 in advance, and $10 for children 18 and under and college students with student ID. Tickets can be purchased online at www.hurricaneridge.com. Flying High Again is not rated. The film is suitable for all ages. In addition to the film, The Hurricane Ridge Winter Sports Education Foundation will be hosting a raffle with over $1000 in prizes and the Ridge, NxNW Surf and Surfrider Foundation will have informational tables and merchandise for sale. Flying High Again is the culmination of the decades-long relationship between snowboard film director and pioneer, Mike Hatchett and TGR co-founders Todd and Steve Jones. Hatchett met the Jones brothers in Alaska in 1995, and the trio forged a bond in the mountains and on film that includes introducing innovators such as Johan Olofsson and Jeremy Jones to audiences in the early days of their careers. “The original goal was to make the best snowboard film we could, and really focus on the athletes being the stars,” Hatchett said. “We wanted to make a rider-based movie and let the athletes do the talking. It is a mix of freestyle and big-mountain riding.” Hatchett and TGR’s filmmaking pedigree — which includes the Emmy-nominated original television series Higher TV and the award-winning film trilogy Deeper, Further, and Higher — is on display throughout Flying High Again, TGR’s ninth feature-length snowboard film. Hatchett and TGR enlisted athletes Bode Merrill, John Jackson, Danny Davis, Elena Hight, Jeremy Jones, and local resident and PNW legend, Jason Robinson along with many more in a showcase of the very best snowboarding that exists today. This event is sponsored and supported by the Hurricane Ridge Winter Sports Education Foundation, Brown’s Outdoor, Field Arts & Events Hall, NxNW Surf, and Surfrider Foundation.
