Join the band for its final outdoor 2018 Concert on the Lawn with the beautiful Olympic Mountains as the backdrop. Just in time for the 150th anniversaries of the founding of the Wyoming Territory and the first ‘cowtown of the west’, Abilene KS, the band plays music invoking the West. In homage to the steamboat era American Riversongs by Pierre La Plante includes the themes “Shenandoah” and “Down the River”. The Cowboys by John Williams bring to mind the cattle drives that ended at the railway terminus of Abilene. In the same year the railways pushed west from Abilene further changing the landscape of the West. A medley of Richard Rodgers tunes includes music from 'Oklahoma'. These and other songs honoring Arizona, New Mexico, and famous Western movies will fill the air on this late summer afternoon.
