Imagined Reality Improv returns to Olympic Theatre Arts Center
No scripts! No safety net! Comedy made up on the spot!
Since 2016, Imagined Reality Improv has been entertaining audiences throughout the Olympic Peninsula. While the four women and three men share a love of improv, they come from varied walks of life: a scientist, two lawyers, a classical musician, an HR guru, a marketing expert and a teenage student – each bringing something different to the performances. A typical Imagined Reality Improv show consists of a variety of short-form "games" or scenes, much like the Whose Line Is It Anyway? TV show. What makes the scenes special is that there are no scripts and everything is made up on-the-spot from audience suggestions, leading to unexpected and often hilarious results.
Improvisation, or improv, is a form of live theatre in which plots, characters and dialogue are made up in the moment. Improvisers will often take suggestions from the audience to get themselves going, and then rely on fellow actors to keep the comedy rolling. One unique aspect of improv performance is that they are all just that – unique. You will never see the same show twice! Improv is spontaneous, entertaining, and fun. But you'll have to see it first hand to get the full experience.
Come join Imagined Reality for an evening of comedy at OTA! While all ages are welcome, show content is typically rated around PG-13.
The show is Saturday, November 13th at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are $10 and are available at the theatre box office from 1-4pm, Tuesday through Friday or online at www.OlympicTheatreArts.org. For further information, call the theatre at 360-683-7326.
