Description
The Sequim High School Band Boosters will host their annual Jazz Dinner Dance on Saturday, January 13, 2018. Doors open at 6:00 and the music begins at 6:30. The Stardust Big Band will be featured along with accompaniment by the Sequim High School Jazz Band. A dinner of Southern fried chicken will be served. The Jazz Dinner Dance will be held in the SHS Cafeteria, located at 601 North Sequim Avenue. “This is one of our favorite events of the year. It’s a great evening out with dinner and a show at an affordable price,” says Sara Benjamin, President of the Band Boosters Club. “Money raised by this event will help us pay for desperately needed new uniforms.” Tickets cost $15 per person or $25 per couple and are available in Sequim at First Federal Sequim Ave Branch, Full Moon Candle Co., and Cracked Bean Coffee. The Stardust Big Band has delighted local audiences for the past 20 years. They play beloved classics from swing era luminaries Ellington, Basie, Goodman, Artie Shaw, Louis Armstrong, Glenn Miller, Tommy Dorsey, and Woody Herman, as well as contemporary artists. The Sequim High School Jazz band is an elite audition-based band led by Band Director Vern Fosket. Band Boosters are raising money for new marching band uniforms. The current uniforms have been in use for 15 years with repeated alterations and cleanings. New uniforms will cost $15,000.
