Description
L.O.D.G.E. Lectures “Raising Awareness on Hearing Loss and the Latest Hearing Aids Available”
[Sequim-WA] – The Lodge at Sherwood Village: our guest speaker from Harbor Audiology, Megan, received her Bachelor of Science in Communicative Sciences and Disorders with a minor in Psychology from Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina. She then received her Doctorate of Audiology at James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia. Born with hearing loss herself, she wears both standard hearing aids as well as a bone-anchored hearing implant. As a result, she “grew up” in the field of Audiology and loves to troubleshoot devices or find ways to improve sound quality based on individual patient needs.
Studies show that hearing loss affects people of all ages, with a significant rise among older adults. However, early intervention and modern hearing aid solutions can dramatically improve one’s ability to hear and engage with the world.
To address this challenge, various types of hearing aids are now available.
With the latest advancements in hearing aid technology, features such as Bluetooth connectivity, rechargeable batteries, and AI-powered noise reduction have made these devices more efficient and user-friendly.
