Forage Northwest Gifts & Treasures, a local Sequim business, is looking to develop a portfolio of photographs featuring popular, local, scenic areas of interest to be used to create a line of postcards. Local professional and amateur photographers are invited to submit photos for consideration (please see list of desired locations). If your photo is selected, chosen photographer(s) will be offered the distinction of photo credit on the post card, in perpetuity. Forage Gifts & Northwest Treasures sells postcards and gifts to shoppers all over the world. If chosen, your image and name will be shared across continents and enjoyed by people around the globe. The printing rights of Forage will not be proprietary and as the photographer/artist, you will be able to continue to utilize said image at your discretion. Deadline for submission is January 31, 2018. Please submit your photos digitally to ForageContest@outlook.com. Photos must be 640 x 480 pixels minimum or preferably 1024 x 768 pixels or 1536 x 1024 pixels in quality. Please label your photos by location, short description (1 or 2 lines) and your name. Please email questions to ForageContest@outlook.com. No in-person inquiries please. Winning submissions will be selected using a number of factors including, but not limited to quality, esthetics, portrayal of the subject, category, identifiability of location, point of view, how the subject represents the greater Sequim area, and Forage brand-continuity. Micro photos may be submitted, but bear in mind that many species of flora and fauna can be found in other areas besides the Olympic Peninsula and the postcard images are meant to represent our area specifically. So please be mindful of context.
