Description
Learn By the Light of the Moon Speaker Series The Dungeness River Audubon Center has brought back the successful, “Learn by the Light of the Moon” speaker series with a whole new line-up. These talks will happen once a month, as the full moon dictates. Next presentation- Thursday, August 15th: “Behind the scenes at the Burke Museum: recent and ongoing bird studies” by John Klicka, Curator of Birds, Burke Museum of Natural History and Culture, Department of Biology, University of Washington "John will be reviewing some of the research that he and his students have been involved with in the last couple of years. They have generated genetic data that provides a fresh perspective on avian relationships and the evolution of various traits and behaviors of birds. These new perspectives have important implications regarding the process of speciation and the very definition of what a species is.”
