Field Arts & Events Hall invites you to?Music of Flamenco; a special evening of live Flamenco Music in the Sunset Bar & Lounge. While in residency at Field Hall, Noche Flamenca will share an evening of live music with the group’s musicians and singers while you enjoy items from a special tapas menu, wine and a full bar.? There is no cover for the music, tables are first come first serve. The Sunset Bar & Lounge will be open 5PM - 8PM. This event is FREE and open to the public. No RSVP is required. Prior to the?Music of Flamenco?is a First Fed Community Conversation in the theater that features insight into rehearsal and some history of Flamenco. This event is in the Donna M. Morris Theater from 4-5pm, free of charge. Born out of passion and the desire to present the authentic form of flamenco to audiences throughout the globe they have become known for their transcendent and deeply emotional performances. Soledad Barrio & Noche Flamenca is noted for creating a diverse theatrical body of work that expresses the rigorous, spellbinding aesthetic of flamenco that exceeds the highest artistic expectations. All aspects of flamenco, dance, song, and music are interrelated and given equal weight, creating a true communal spirit within the company; the very heart and soul of flamenco. Performance highlights include regular seasons in New York City, performing in Lincoln Center, the Joyce Theater, Joe's Pub at the Public Theater, and others. Soledad Barrio & Noche Flamenca also tours extensively across the United States, Canada, Europe, the Middle East, Argentina, and Australia. In support of its mission to educate and divulge Spanish culture and the art form of flamenco, the company offers extensive residency programs and classes catered to people of all ages, races, and economic backgrounds. Soledad Barrio & Noche Flamenca has been recognized with awards from the National Dance Project, the MAP Fund, and the National Endowment for the Arts. They have also received the Lucille Lortel Award for Special Theatrical Experience, an Exceptional Artist Award for Soledad Barrio from Dance Magazine, the Vilcek Prize in Dance, a Bessie Award for Outstanding Performer at the Joyce Theater and a Bessie Award for Exceptional Artist.
