At its general meeting on May 9th, the Sequim Bay Yacht Club will present Kathy Mond Estes to speak on what life was like for the occupants of the lighthouses in our area. Lighthouses have served an extremely important job in our country's maritime history and hold a fascination for many people. While the idea of living and working in a lighthouse sounds romantic to some, the reality was quite different for our early settlers. Kathy will describe the early challenges of families operating the lighthouses at New Dungeness, Ediz Hook, Tatoosh, Slip Point, Destruction Island and Low Point.
