The Dungeness River Nature Center is excited to present the Indigenous documentary Dawnland in honor of Native American Heritage Month in partnership with the Jamestown S'Klallam Tribal Library. DAWNLAND is an Emmy Award-winning documentary that explores the profound impact of the Indian Child Welfare Act through the lens of the Maine Wabanaki people. It uncovers the stories of Native families who were separated and the ongoing journey of cultural reclamation and healing. With powerful personal narratives and historical context, Dawnland sheds light on the resilience of Indigenous communities and the importance of preserving their heritage. Don’t miss this compelling film that invites reflection on the past and hope for the future. $10 per person. All proceeds support educational programs at the River Center.
