Description
Join fellow accordion players, enthusiast and dancers for an afternoon of music and fun. Players of ALL levels are encouraged to bring their accordion and play 1-3 pieces. The intent of the social is to have a supportive and friendly atmosphere, where players can play and everyone can enjoy some great music. Elsy learned the accordion as a child in Switzerland. She attended a school which combined music and academics in Winterthur, and later attended a music Conservatory to polish her skills. She also earned credentials as a music teacher. She’s won competitions, conducted bands and orchestras, taught many students, and delighted audiences worldwide. After a winter spent working as musician at a Swiss ski resort in Canada, she vacationed in Bermuda, where she met an Austrian zither player. The rest is history, they immigrated to U.S. and eventually retired to Sequim. Elsy lead the Edelweiss Band here in Sequim for many years. Hermann grew up in the mining town of Eisenerz, Austria. He learned to play the zither as a child. In addition, he expertly plays the guitar, and is a great support for other musicians. He also is a wonderful player of other types of accordions, mainly the Steirischer Accordion., and more recently the chromatic. Hermann was also a member of the Edelweiss Band.
