Description
Join fellow accordion players, enthusiast and dancers for an afternoon of music and fun. Players of ALL levels are encouraged to bring their accordion and play 1-3 pieces. The intent of the social is to have a supportive and friendly atmosphere, where players can play and everyone can enjoy some great music. Eileen started playing accordion when she was 5 years old and took lessons from age 6 to 15. She continued to play off and on during the next 15 years, and then put the accordion away for about 25 years to work and raise a family. She has played most genres of music including Irish, Klezmer, German, French, Classical, Contemporary and others. She plays regularly at venues in and around Spokane. Eileen is currently the President and rehearsal conductor of the Spokane Accordion Ensemble, which performs 1-2 concerts a year, and also plays occasionally at retirement homes and other events. For this Social, she will be playing a variety of rhythms and genres, representing various countries and some of her favorite songs. Eileen and her husband Rick were part of the Happy Wanderers Band with Steve & Jeannie Berg, who started the Sequim Social.
