DVHWC - Sequim Free Clinic's 13th Annual Clinic Fun Walk and Health Fair. ! This year the course will be a 5K Fun Walk. That is equal to 3.1 miles. Now, don?t worry, if you are used to doing the 1 mile course from previous years, you still can! Registration will start at 8:00am at the Walk?s starting point, Trinity United Methodist Church. Warm-up stretches will begin at 8:45am and the Walk will start at 9:00 am. The registration fee is $10 and children 12 and under are free. The Walk is non-competitive and is meant to promote exercise as part of a healthy lifestyle. While many people participate as part of a team, individuals are encouraged to join the fun! There is some competitive fun however?. The Team Competitions: Team with the Most Walkers, and Team Raising the Most Money. Last year Team Akaloo, from the Dungeness Valley Lutheran Church took home both honors with 55 Walkers and raising $3,425. Thank you Team Akaloo! When you come to the Fun Walk this year, take a few moments to visit our small ?Health Fair?. Do you know your numbers? Take a few minutes with us and find out. There will be screening for blood pressure, blood sugar and oxygen saturation. Become familiar with the AED (defibrillator). Learn about disaster preparedness?are you ready? Through the participation of various specialist departments from the Olympic Medical Center, a variety of health and wellness information and services will also be available. The Walk and Health Fair is a fun way to support the Clinic? mission of providing continued health care access to those in need in our community. Join us for a great morning of fun, prizes, raffles and healthy education! Pets are welcome, but must be on a leash.
