Description
Sequim City Band - in its 32nd year of providing free public concerts – is excited to offer its annual holiday concert. The wind ensemble performs a wide array of classical to contemporary music in celebrate of the season. The concert features Christmas and Hanukkah music, including Handel’s “Halleluiah Chorus” from ‘The Messiah’ and “A Rollicking Hanukkah” by modern composer Randall Standridge. As a treat, a model train in the lobby pulls Polar Express cars through mountains and valleys. Then listen to selections from the movie The Polar Express by Alan Silvestri. The band celebrates this unique season with strains of “Most Wonderful Time of the Year” and several other pieces to get you in the spirit of sharing the holiday season and memories with friends and family. The Sequim City Band – an all-volunteer 75-musician strong wind ensemble – performs, promotes, and preserves symphonic band music by providing quality, inspiring performances and education in partnership with the North Olympic Peninsula community and beyond. The Band has been recognized for its accomplishments in arts and culture and commitment to the community with the receipt of the 2023 Governor’s Arts & Heritage Award for an organization.
