Story Slam returns to Olympic Theatre Arts Center

It has been far too long since Story Slam has taken the stage, but that time is finally here! The event will be back in person and on stage at Olympic Theatre Arts Center on Friday, November 19, 2021 at 7:00 pm. The theme for the evening is "Almost". Have you had any close calls or near misses that had you sweating? Maybe you just barely hit the mark or nailed down something you didn't think you could. We want to hear about that time you almost... And we hope you will come out and share that story with our community.

The event will resume as it was in the past. "Everyone is invited to drop their name in the bag to share a five-minute true personal story on the theme, however you interpret it," said organiser Jeanné Sparks. "If your name gets pulled, you get on the stage to share. Of course, the event needs an audience, and everyone is welcome to come to listen, there is no pressure to be a teller." As this is the Slam's first indoor event post-covid, the organisers ask that patrons adhere to the following: Anybody who enters Olympic Theatre Arts Center must wear a mask and keep it on unless actively performing, eating or drinking. Patrons must also have their vaccine card showing full immunizations 14 days earlier than the event OR bring a negative PCR test from a lab that was done within 72 hours prior to the event. No admittance otherwise.
