Talk on Company Towns in the PNW

Description

The Sequim Bay Yacht Club will present Linda Carlson to speak on the fascinating history of company towns in the Pacific Northwest. She will describe the variety of such towns (e.g., timber, coal, lime, copper, hydro, war-worker) and what daily life was like in them---where people lived, what the cookhouses were like, where the kids went to school, what people did for fun, and why the towns were privatized or razed.
