Jean Glaser and Julie Hembree are presenting their show named “Voices of Land and Sea.” Julie creates coastal-themed multimedia art using materials like shells and sea glass. She collects these elements, infusing her work with a connection to the ocean. Recently, she has begun incorporating collage adding depth and storytelling to her pieces. “I like to experiment with different techniques. Sometimes the best art is the result of happy mistakes,” states Hembree.
Jean, an artist for decades finds her art is transforming since moving to PNW. Focused on animals, she incorporates patterns and colors unrelated to the subject using collage, texture, markers and pencils. Jean describes her work as, “loud, brash, noisy pieces with humor and heart. Imperious crows, Brash donkeys, and Colorful Chickens. Art that makes you smile.”
Both artist will have their work displayed at Blue Whole Gallery during August. Stop in and meet them both, August 1st from 5-8 PM.
