The League of Women Voters Clallam County and the North Olympic Library System Announce General Election Candidate Forum Dates
The League of Women Voters Clallam County (LWVCLA) along with co-sponsor North Olympic Library System (NOLS) will facilitate three public Candidate Forums via Zoom on the following dates:
  1.        Port Angeles School District 121 and Port Angeles City Council | Wednesday, September 22 | 5:30 – 8:00 PM
  2.        Sequim City Council | Wednesday, September 29 | 6:00 – 8:00 PM
  3.        Hospital District 2 | Thursday, September 30 | 6:00 – 7:30 PM
The forums will help voters become better informed about the candidates. We request that voters email their concise questions for candidates to us in advance at info@lwvcla.org by the following date and time. When submitting forum questions, please include your full name within the email.
  •          By September 20th at 5:00 PM with the subject line Question for Port Angeles School District 121 candidates or Question for Port Angeles City Council candidates;
  •          By September 27th at 5:00 PM with the subject line Question for Sequim City Council candidates;
  •          By September 28th at 5:00 PM with the subject line Question for Hospital District 2 candidates.
At each public forum, candidates in attendance will be invited to provide their qualifications, state why they are running, and state their goals for the office, if elected. The forum moderator will then pose questions from the public. The forum schedule and candidates (in order of their filing date) are listed below. The Zoom links and access information for these public forums will be  posted on the League of Women Voters Clallam County website one week prior to the forums at  https://lwvcla.clubexpress.com/candidate_forums
Sequim candidates who have not responded or who have declined to participate in a forum received an invitation to send a representative to read opening and closing statements from them. The representative will not be able to answer questions.

In addition to the above forums, Candidates for SEQUIM SCHOOL DISTRICT 323 have been invited to introduce themselves and make statements.
Candidates for Director-at-Large, Position 4 are:
  •          Virginia R. Sheppard – No response as of press release date.
  •          Kristi Schmeck – Confirmed
Candidate for Director, District Number 2 is:
  •          Patrice Johnston – Confirmed
 
Each of the above forums will be recorded and will be made available for viewing shortly after the event on the League's website at https://lwvcla.clubexpress.com/candidate_forums. The previously recorded Primary Forum for Fire District 3, Position 1 that candidates Jeff Nicholas and Duane Chamlee participated in may also be viewed on the website.
 
The League of Women Voters Clallam County made several attempts to coordinate a forum for Forks, however due to a lack of response from candidates, that forum is cancelled.
