Job Description

 Full Time Exempt (40-hour work week * Tuesday thru Saturday)

Compensation: Salary DOE, Paid Holidays including Holiday Shutdown (week between Christmas & New Year’s), Paid Vacation & sick leave, monthly stipend for cell phone. Use of Construction Vehicle provided.

Habitat for Humanity of Clallam County is seeking a Construction Manager to start immediately. This individual will educate, train and manage volunteers while completing the construction of single-family homes and home repairs. This individual will be a teacher and coach tolerant and understanding of unskilled, enthusiastic volunteers.

• Serve as lead construction staff throughout the entire build process 
• Host the volunteers, ensuring they have a fun and productive experience 
• Communicate schedule and materials needs with the Executive Director & Construction Committee
• Insure compliance with applicable sustainable building standards and safety regulations (pulling permits)
• Maintain good working relationships with inspectors and sub-contractors 
• Develop team leaders to assist in the construction process 
• Supervise and manage all subcontractors when required 
• Maintain a build schedule that adheres to the affiliate plan with Construction Committee input
• Work closely with the Executive Director to develop and refine Standard Operating Procedures 
• Oversee repairs for low/fixed income homeowners through our Neighborhood Revitalization approach – ongoing basis
o Work with Family Resource Manager to review Neighborhood Revitalization applications
o Evaluate scope of work, estimate cost, order materials as needed 
• Willing to complete necessary educational classes to ensure Habitat for Humanity International compliance requirements are met
• Monthly: attend Staff meeting, Leadership Team meeting and Construction Committee meeting
• Other duties as assigned

• Demonstrated ability to manage 2-3 team leaders in charge of small 3-5 volunteer person teams 
• Demonstrated ability to teach and directly supervise individuals or small 3-5 person teams responsible for routine residential job site tasks
• Demonstrated ability to work with diverse workforce with varying levels of experience
• Strong communication skills with the ability to lead and motivate volunteer work crews
• Practical knowledge of Clallam County building codes and regulatory requirements 
• Knowledge of sustainable building practices a plus 
• Physically must be able to lift 50 pounds, climb ladders and traverse uneven terrain
• Valid WA driver’s license, pass background check, drug test and provide 3-references.
