Description
SummerTide Solstice Art Festival is a free, family friendly event to celebrate the longest day of the year and welcome new sculpture artwork to Webster's Woods Sculpture Park.
This event marks the opening of a new open-air art exhibition, The Endurance of Change, featuring 13 new and re-envisioned artworks in Webster's Woods Sculpture Park. Visitors will have the opportunity to meet the artists, participate in guided tours of the newly-installed artworks, or explore the collection with a new park map.
This year’s lineup also features a selection of seven original poems from the Olympic Peninsula Authors group. Visitors will be able to meet the authors and enjoy live readings at a Poetry Café in the gallery courtyard, or enjoy a self-guided poetry walk through the park.
Visitors of all ages will be invited to contribute to a community nature weaving, design a playful solstice crown, and harness the magic of the sun to create prints with natural objects.
Finally, attendees can enjoy live music from the meadow stage throughout the event. Abakis, aka Aba Kiser, will be playing rootsy orchestral folk pop from 1:00pm-2:00pm and classically trained vocalist and self-taught guitarist Kristen Marlo will serenade the crowd from 2:00pm-4:00pm. Songslinger Jack Dwyer will strum from 4:00pm-5:00pm.
